Beginnings
Initially you'll want to bring your first Blockhead through the portal. Once you've done that, you can start moving around the world by simply tapping in the air above the ground. You can also interact with the world by tapping on any square that the blockhead can get to. For example you can tap on a dirt square to dig it, tap on a branch or tree to chop it down. You can queue up multiple actions, and cancel them by tapping them again.
The randomly generated world you are in is extremely big. The ground is over 500 blocks deep, and it'll take more than 15,000 blocks traveling in one direction before you get all the way around the world and back to where you started. There is a north pole, a south pole, you cross the equator twice, and you'll find deserts, oceans, mountains, caves and forests.
But before you start exploring, it's probably a good idea to create a base. You won't have much fun on a mountain without warm clothing, and swimming across an ocean will take a very long time without a boat. So you need to get crafting.
Crafting
All crafting begins with a single workbench. Once you have dug some dirt you can get a workbench at the portal. Alternatively if you end up a long way from the portal you can use time crystals to get one in the blockhead's status menu by tapping the blockhead button. Once you have a workbench in your inventory, you can place it by selecting it then tapping in an empty square just above the ground. You can also place any blocks and many items this way, and even build huge structures.
Once you have a workbench, you probably want to find some flint. This is found in the dirt near the surface, and is a shiny black color. If you use your spade to dig, you will dig faster, and get 3x the flint. You'll also need to find some sticks by chopping down tree branches. It's a good idea to pick up any food you see too.
With your sticks and flint, and a bit of dirt, you can go back to your workbench and start crafting. A tool bench and a craft bench are probably a good place to start. You'll want a flint machete to gather sticks faster, and a bunch of baskets to expand your inventory. After you have a few more sticks you can craft and place a campfire which will provide light and warmth, and allow you to craft torches.
At some point you'll need to sleep. You can craft a bed with wood at a woodwork bench, but until then you can sleep anywhere in the blockhead's status menu by tapping the blockhead button.
What To Do Next
From there, you're pretty much on your own! Crafting more tools to get more resources quicker is probably a good place to start. If you see a green box around an action, that means you're using the right tool for the job, and will receive more resources and work quicker. If you see a red box, you're using the wrong tool and are needlessly blunting it.
Dig down to find stone, and caves filled with gems and time crystal ore blocks. Craft gem pickaxes to get bonuses when mining ore and time crystals. Find flax, leather and fur and craft some clothing, then crush some pigments at a press to dye them. Plant any seeds or fruit you find and grow more to eat. Explore, create, craft and build to make your mark on The Blockheads' world, but most of all have fun!
